2022 F.I.A. Merit Scholarship Recipients

It is with great pleasure that The 1931 Foundation announces the 2022 F.I.A. Merit Scholarship recipients. All recipients are outstanding members of Phi Iota Alpha who exhibited academic achievement and chapter leadership during the 2021-2022 academic year. Below is the list of the 2022 F.I.A. Merit Scholarship recipients:

Rafael Paz

Rafael is a graduate student at The University of Texas at Austin and is currently pursuing a Master’s of Global Policy Studies (MGPS). He is an alumnus of the Phi Chapter of Phi Iota Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Rafael is the Graduate Student recipient of the 2022 F.I.A. Merit Scholarship.

I am honored to be recognized as the Graduate Student Merit Scholarship recipient by the 1931 Foundation! This scholarship will support my journey through graduate school. Thank you to the 1931 Foundation and everyone else involved!

Anthony C. Guzman

Anthony is a senior at George Mason University perusing a Bachelor’s of Arts in Government and International Politics with a concentration in International Relations Major, a minor in International Security, and a minor in Data Analysis. Anthony is a member of the Beta Chi Chapter of Phi Iota Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Anthony is this year’s Senior recipient of the F.I.A. Merit Scholarship.

I am incredibly grateful and honored to be chosen as a recipient of the F.I.A. Merit Scholarship. Receiving this scholarship will reduce my overall financial stress and allow me to continue to work hard to demonstrate the drive and values that set Phi Iota Alpha Fraternity, Inc apart as leaders in our community.

Anthony C. Guzman

Pablo Quispe

Bro. Pablo Quispe is a junior at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign perusing a Bachelor’s of Science in Information Sciences. Pablo is a member of the Beta Tau Chapter of Phi Iota Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and is this year’s Junior recipient of the F.I.A. Merit Scholarship.

Receiving this scholarship will not only assist me with continuing my studies, but it has also empowered me in knowing that my hard work and determination towards my future profession doesn’t go unrecognized. Thank you once again for this amazing opportunity!

Pablo Quispe

Jonathan Gomez

Jonathan is a sophomore at George Mason University perusing a Bachelor’s of Science in Cybersecurity Engineering. Jonathan is a member of the Beta Chi Chapter of Phi Iota Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and this year’s Sophomore recipient of the F.I.A. Merit Scholarship.

This scholarship will greatly help me focus on my studies by easing my financial obligations. Additionally, this money will reduce the financial burden on my parents, and allow me to finish paying off my debt for the Fall 2022 Semester. Thank you again for this wonderful opportunity, I really appreciate everything the foundation has done for me.

Each scholarship recipient was awarded $500. The 1931 Foundation heartily congratulates the award recipients and wishes all the applicants continued success in their educational endeavors.  Since 2020, the 1931 Foundation has dispersed $4,500 in scholarships.
